Turkiye and Iraq Hold Talks to Enhance Cooperation on Water Infrastructure

Baghdad, The Gulf Observer: Turkish and Iraqi officials convened in Baghdad to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation on Iraq’s water infrastructure. The First Meeting of the Joint High Committee, focused on advancing collaborative efforts in water management, was co-chaired by Turkish Deputy Minister Ambassador Berris Ekinci and Abdul Karim Al-Faisal, Chairman of Iraq’s Prime Minister’s Advisory Council.

According to Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry, the meeting, held on Sunday, was a significant step toward enhancing cooperation between the two nations. Deputy Minister Ekinci also held discussions with Iraq’s Minister of Water Resources, Aoun Diab Abdullah, where both parties explored joint initiatives and possibilities for improving water resource management in the region.

The talks underscore both countries’ commitment to addressing critical water infrastructure challenges, with a focus on fostering effective partnerships for sustainable solutions.
