Türkiye and Northern Cyprus Parliamentarians Pay Tribute at Historic Sites in Baku

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Members of the parliamentary friendship groups from Türkiye and Northern Cyprus paid tribute to Azerbaijan’s national heritage during an official visit to key historical landmarks in the capital.
The delegation visited the Alley of Honors, where they honored the memory of Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader of Azerbaijan and founder of the modern independent state. The visiting parliamentarians laid flowers and a wreath at his grave as a mark of deep respect.
The guests also toured the Victory Park, where they placed a wreath at the Victory Monument. They were briefed on the significance of the park, established to commemorate the exceptional heroism of the Azerbaijani people during the Patriotic War, honor the memory of martyrs, and preserve the legacy of the nation’s historic victory.
As part of their visit, the delegation further paid homage at the Turkish Martyrdom memorial. The monument commemorates the Turkish soldiers who lost their lives in 1918 during the battles for the liberation of Baku. Flowers were laid at the site in recognition of their sacrifice.
The visit underscored the strong historical, cultural, and parliamentary ties among Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Northern Cyprus, reflecting shared values and enduring solidarity.
