Türkiye, Azerbaijan Emphasize Turkic Unity for Strengthening the Organization of Turkic States
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: In a joint press statement, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey highlighted the significance of the unification of the Turkic world, emphasizing that the unity of peoples with common roots will fortify each member of the Organization of Turkic States.
President Aliyev conveyed this pivotal message during discussions with President Erdogan, underscoring the mutual benefits derived from the cohesion of Turkic nations within the organization. President Aliyev disclosed plans for an upcoming informal summit meeting of the Organization of Turkic States scheduled to take place in Shusha in July of this year. This summit, anticipated to be a significant forum for discussions, is expected to further solidify the bonds between member states.
A noteworthy development highlighted by President Aliyev was the participation of the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, an observer status member, in the upcoming summit. “Involving the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in this meeting will be another strong contribution to our common work, bolstering the unity of the Turkish peoples and providing impetus to our collaborative efforts,” stated President Aliyev.
