Türkiye Backs Syria’s Economic Revival, Plans Seamless Trade via Aleppo Logistics Hub

Logistics Hub

Aleppo, The Gulf Observer: Turkish Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat has announced that Aleppo is poised to become a major logistics hub, as Türkiye and Syria move toward reactivating vital transport corridors and boosting bilateral trade.

Speaking during a round-table meeting on Tuesday with Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal Al-Sha’ar, Bolat revealed that Turkish trucks will soon cease conducting transhipments or trailer exchanges at the Syrian border. This shift is part of broader modernization efforts aimed at streamlining border crossings, enhancing trade efficiency, and ensuring safety.

“Türkiye is taking concrete steps to facilitate smoother and more secure border procedures with Syria. These steps are expected to accelerate the pace of trade and deepen economic cooperation,” Bolat stated.

Highlighting Syria’s resilience, Bolat expressed confidence in the country’s potential for economic revival. “Syria has the strength to rebuild through the industriousness and productivity of its people. This spirit of determination will soon be visible across sectors—from industry and agriculture to manufacturing and services,” he said.

The Turkish trade minister underscored Türkiye’s readiness to play a leading role in Syria’s reconstruction and development. He noted that Turkish firms, backed by significant experience and technical capacity, are well-positioned to contribute across various sectors including manufacturing, infrastructure, construction, and banking.

“Ankara stands ready to make its strongest contribution to Syria’s recovery and rebuilding process. We believe Turkish companies will be at the forefront of this effort,” Bolat affirmed.

The revival of Aleppo as a logistics hub and the reactivation of key transport corridors signal a new phase of regional economic integration and mark a potential turning point in Syrian post-conflict recovery, supported by close cooperation with Türkiye.
