Türkiye Condemns Israel’s Expanding Military Strikes in Syria

Türkiye

Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Türkiye has strongly condemned Israel’s escalating military attacks in Syria, denouncing them as violations of the country’s territorial integrity, unity, and sovereignty.

In a written statement issued Tuesday, the Turkish Foreign Ministry criticized the intensified Israeli strikes, declaring: “We strongly condemn Israel’s military attacks expanded in scope and carried out in violation of Syria’s territorial integrity, unity and sovereignty.”

The statement underscored that such actions undermine ongoing efforts to establish stability and security in both Syria and the broader region, urging Israel to immediately cease its operations.

Reaffirming its long-standing position, Ankara stressed that Türkiye will continue to support the vision of a Syria free of terrorism, secure, and fully sovereign, in line with the legitimate expectations of the Syrian people.

According to reports, the Israeli army has carried out four incursions into Syria’s Quneitra province since the beginning of August, the latest of which took place early Tuesday and resulted in the death of one person.

Following the collapse of the Bashar al-Assad regime in late 2024, Israel expanded its occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights by seizing the demilitarised buffer zone— a move that violated the 1974 Disengagement Agreement with Syria.
