Turkmen President arrives in Dubai to participate in COP28

Dubai, The Gulf Observer: Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Dubai on Friday on a working visit to attend the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).

Officials from the United Arab Emirates and members of the Turkmen delegation welcomed the Turkmen leader at the Sheikh Maktoum International Airport in Dubai, the official Turkmen media reports.

During the Government meeting of Turkmenistan, the head of state emphasised the significance of the World Climate Forum, highlighting its agenda that encompasses vital matters of global sustainable development and the future well-being of humanity.

“Turkmenistan, in practice, demonstrates a responsible and proactive position in addressing urgent environmental challenges, as evidenced by the upcoming participation of the Turkmen delegation in the COP 28 conference,” the head of state emphasised.

COP-28 is a conference of United Nations member states on climate change. During the meeting, governments will discuss limiting and preparing for future climate change. The conference will take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from November 30 to December 12, 2023.
