Turkmen, U.S. Officials Discuss Regional Security and Economic Cooperation

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held a telephone conversation on Friday with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and U.S. Special Envoy Sergio Gor, according to a press release issued by the U.S. State Department.
During the call, the sides discussed regional security issues and developments related to the Central Asian economy, the statement said.
They also exchanged views on key areas of bilateral cooperation, reaffirming their interest in strengthening engagement across multiple sectors.
Secretary Rubio reiterated the United States’ commitment to further developing its partnership with Turkmenistan, including expanding business ties and continuing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations.
The call followed a recent official visit to Turkmenistan by U.S. Special Envoy Sergio Gor and U.S. Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll, underscoring ongoing high-level engagement between the two countries.
