Turkmenistan and Russia Discuss New University and Cultural Projects in Ashgabat

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Turkmenistan and Russia engaged in high-level discussions to advance several significant cultural and educational projects, including the establishment of the Russian-Turkmen University, the construction of a new building for the State Russian Drama Theater, and an additional building for the Russian-Turkmen A.S. Pushkin Secondary School in Ashgabat.

During a meeting held on Thursday, Turkmenistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov and Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev addressed these important initiatives. The Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation reported that Meredov emphasized the significance of these projects for enhancing bilateral relations.

Konstantin Kosachev expressed his confidence that the meetings in Ashgabat would serve as a pivotal milestone in strengthening parliamentary relations between Russia and Turkmenistan, highlighting Turkmenistan’s role as a crucial partner.

On the same day, Kosachev also met with the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova, the Chairperson of the Mejlis Committee on Legislation and its Norms, and the Head of the Friendship Group of the Turkmen Mejlis with the Federation Council Batyr Bayliev. Their discussions centered on the prospects of furthering parliamentary cooperation between the two nations.

These talks underscore the commitment of Turkmenistan and Russia to deepening their cultural and educational ties, reflecting a broader agenda of mutual cooperation and partnership.
