Turkmenistan and Russia Reaffirm Strategic Ties, Discuss Bilateral and Regional Cooperation

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: A meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Galuzin.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the strategic nature of Turkmen-Russian relations, noting their multifaceted character and steady development. They emphasized that regular high-level contacts play a decisive role in strengthening bilateral interaction.
Deputy Foreign Minister Galuzin highly appreciated Turkmenistan’s activities in the international arena, conducted in line with the country’s status of permanent neutrality.
The discussion focused on key areas of bilateral cooperation, including political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. The two sides also highlighted Turkmenistan and Russia’s high level of interaction on the international stage, particularly within the framework of the United Nations, and underlined cooperation within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), with Turkmenistan holding the chairmanship this year.
Additionally, the parties exchanged views on current regional and international issues of mutual interest.
