Turkmenistan Celebrates 33rd Independence Anniversary in Festive Atmosphere

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: The people of Turkmenistan are celebrating the 33rd anniversary of the country’s independence in a joyful and festive atmosphere. Marking this significant national holiday, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent a congratulatory message to the nation, as reported by Turkmenistan’s official media.

“I sincerely congratulate you on our national holiday — Independence Day of Turkmenistan, which is widely and solemnly celebrated across our beautiful homeland! Independence is the foundation of our achievements and victories, sovereignty, and a happy life in the era of the Revival of a new epoch of a powerful state. I am confident that the celebrations and events marking the 33rd anniversary of independence in the Year of ‘The Treasury of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy’ will deepen our love for the Motherland, further strengthening our unity and solidarity!” said the head of state in his address.

Celebrations began in the morning with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument of Independence of Turkmenistan. President Berdimuhamedov, along with government leaders, parliament members, public organizations, political parties, elders, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in the country, and foreign guests, participated in the solemn event.

Following the ceremony, a grand parade took place in Ashgabat, in front of the State Tribune. The parade showcased the pride and unity of the nation, featuring cultural displays, traditional performances, and national symbols, highlighting the spirit of Turkmenistan’s journey of independence over the past three decades. The country continues to celebrate its sovereignty and achievements in an atmosphere of national pride and solidarity.
