Turkmenistan Delegation to Participate in Silk Road Tourism Exhibition in Xi’an
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: A delegation from Turkmenistan will participate in the International Tourism Exhibition “Silk Road in Xi’an-2024,” which will take place from August 9 to 11 in Xi’an, China.
The Turkmen delegation will be led by Akiniyaz Agamuradov, head of the Tourism Department of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan.
The choice of Xi’an as the forum’s venue holds significant symbolism. This major industrial, business, cultural, educational, and tourist center of China was historically the starting point and destination for trade caravans traveling the Great Silk Road through Central Asia, linking China with the region’s states.
Xi’an is twinned with the Turkmen city of Mary, a historic city along the Silk Road route. The twinning agreement was signed in May 2014, highlighting the enduring connection between the two cities.
