Turkmenistan, EU Discuss Prospects for Regional Cooperation in Islamabad

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, A. Movlamov, received the Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Pakistan, Raimundas Karoblis, at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad.

Ambassador Movlamov congratulated the European diplomat on presenting his credentials to the President of Pakistan a day earlier and conveyed best wishes for his success in carrying out his diplomatic mission in the country.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on prospects for expanding cooperation between the European Union and the countries of the region, including Turkmenistan. They underlined their mutual interest in advancing collaboration across various sectors and in addressing issues of sustainable development.

Discussions also touched upon infrastructure projects vital for enhancing regional connectivity and long-term growth. In this regard, Ambassador Movlamov highlighted the progress of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline and the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan (TAP) power transmission line, describing them as important initiatives for developing the regional energy network. He further emphasized Turkmenistan’s significant potential in the energy sector, which offers new opportunities for international partnership.

At the conclusion of the talks, both parties reaffirmed their readiness to maintain a constructive dialogue and to continue working together toward strengthening and expanding mutually beneficial ties.
