Turkmenistan Holds 64th Meeting of Interdepartmental Commission on Caspian Sea Issues

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: The 64th meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission of Turkmenistan on Caspian Sea issues was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on January 10, 2026.

The meeting was attended by relevant Deputy Chairpersons of the Cabinet of Ministers, as well as heads and representatives of a number of ministries and specialized agencies of Turkmenistan.

During the session, participants were briefed on the outcomes of the Commission’s activities over the past year, in line with the objectives outlined in the Commission’s Action Plan for 2025.

The meeting also approved the Action Plan of the Interdepartmental Commission on Caspian Sea issues for 2026. Particular emphasis was placed on upcoming priorities related to the implementation of the approved plan during the first half of the current year.

Turkmenistan has for many years maintained a proactive stance in developing balanced solutions to Caspian Sea-related issues and has played an important role in strengthening the legal and contractual framework for cooperation in the Caspian Sea. This process continues through close cooperation with all Caspian littoral states in accordance with international law.
