Turkmenistan Outlines Priority Positions Ahead of 80th UN General Assembly Session

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan convened a briefing on Saturday to present the country’s priority positions for the upcoming 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

The event gathered senior officials and staff of the Foreign Ministry, heads and representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Ashgabat, as well as members of the national media.

In his address, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov underlined the importance of the landmark 80th UNGA session, noting that the jubilee meeting symbolizes the resilience and enduring relevance of multilateral diplomacy. He highlighted that Turkmenistan’s policy of positive neutrality, built on principles of trust and mutual respect, serves as an effective instrument for promoting stability, preventing conflicts, and fostering international cooperation.

Participants exchanged views on the implementation of Turkmenistan’s key priorities at the session, voicing support for continued close collaboration in advancing these objectives. The briefing also underscored Turkmenistan’s active and constructive role in peacebuilding, strengthening regional and global stability, and advancing sustainable development.
