Turkmenistan, Thailand Review Bilateral Ties as Thai Ambassador Concludes Mission

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: A meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Gurbanov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Turkmenistan, Apirat Sugondhabhirom (resident in Ankara), who is concluding his diplomatic mission in Ashgabat.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the current state of Turkmen-Thai relations, noting the positive trajectory of cooperation across political, trade-economic, cultural, and humanitarian domains. Emphasis was placed on expanding the legal framework that underpins bilateral cooperation.
The diplomats also underscored the successful collaboration between Turkmenistan and Thailand within international organizations, particularly the United Nations. The Turkmen side expressed appreciation for Thailand’s constructive role in preparations for the upcoming Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), set to be held in the National Tourist Zone “Avaza”.
Further, the two sides exchanged views on enhancing cultural and humanitarian cooperation. The Thai side expressed interest in building partnerships between higher education institutions in both countries.
In conclusion, Deputy Minister Gurbanov extended gratitude to Ambassador Apirat Sugondhabhirom for his dedicated efforts in strengthening the friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Thailand.
