Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: At a Government meeting in Turkmenistan, Deputy Prime Minister Myahrijemal Mammedova announced plans for the international film festival “Gorkut Ata,” scheduled to take place in November of this year. The event aims to showcase cinematic achievements on a global stage, fostering cultural exchange and artistic collaboration.

In addition to the film festival, a series of events and creative competitions are set to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi, a revered Eastern thinker and classical poet. The theme for 2024, “The Fount of the Mind of Magtymguly Fragi,” will be highlighted throughout the year, along with the declaration of the city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world.

Turkmenistan is committed to strengthening international cultural cooperation, with a focus on the restoration and scientific study of historical and cultural monuments. Negotiations are planned for organizing Days of Culture of Turkmenistan abroad and hosting Days of Culture of Foreign States in Turkmenistan.

Efforts will be directed towards enhancing the material and technical capabilities of specialized institutions, improving the skills and computer literacy of employees, and introducing new technologies. The country aims to fulfill tasks outlined in state programs and the Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy, including seeking multilateral and national nominations to the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Television programs dedicated to significant events in Turkmenistan’s life, policy successes, and new achievements will be produced for foreign television audiences.
