Turkmenistan’s National Leader Inspects New International Airport in Jebel

Balkan Velayat, The Gulf Observer: National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, conducted an inspection of the new international airport under construction in Jebel during his working visit to the Balkan velayat. The airport, now in its final stages of construction, is expected to enhance Turkmenistan’s transport and transit potential, boosting cargo and passenger transportation.
As part of the visit, a test landing was conducted to evaluate the runway’s quality and compliance with international standards. The successful test flight confirmed the high construction quality, according to News Hub Consultants.
Berdimuhamedov highlighted the strategic importance of the new airport in strengthening Turkmenistan’s integration into the global economic space and supporting sustainable development initiatives. Additionally, the facility is expected to improve passenger services, particularly for those traveling to the Mollakara sanatorium for rest and health treatments.
The aviation complex will include:

- Passenger terminals with modern amenities
- Aircraft hangars and parking areas
- Access roads for smooth connectivity
- A control tower and other technical facilities
