UAE and Azerbaijan FMs Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, and Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, conducted a phone call to discuss and strengthen bilateral relations between their respective countries.

The two diplomats reviewed the outcomes of the official visit made by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Azerbaijan in January, which has significantly promoted prospects for joint cooperation in various fields.

Sheikh Abdullah and Minister Bayramov explored pathways for enhanced cooperation in sectors such as economic development, investment, trade, and renewable energy. They also addressed collaboration on climate issues, with a particular focus on Azerbaijan hosting the 29th UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku in November 2024. Sheikh Abdullah conveyed his best wishes to Azerbaijan for the successful hosting of this significant global event.

Emphasizing the depth of the UAE-Azerbaijan bilateral relations, Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the commitment of both nations to further develop these ties across all fields, aiming to achieve mutual interests and benefit their peoples.

The conversation also covered regional and international issues of joint interest, focusing on ways to support efforts that enhance stability and peace in the Caucasus region.

The reaffirmation of these strong bilateral relations underscores the UAE’s and Azerbaijan’s shared commitment to fostering collaboration and addressing global challenges together.
