UAE Backs Qatar, Egypt and U.S. Call for Swift Ceasefire Conclusion

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: The United Arab Emirates has endorsed the call made by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt, and U.S. President Joe Biden, urging the swift conclusion of a ceasefire and the release of hostages and detainees.

In a statement, the UAE called on all parties to respond promptly to the leaders’ appeal and resume urgent discussions scheduled for August 15, 2024. The UAE emphasized that the agreement currently under consideration holds the potential to alleviate the suffering of the people of Gaza, as well as the hostages and their families, and expressed hope that the parties involved will not delay its implementation.

The UAE also reiterated its deep appreciation and unwavering support for the tireless mediation efforts undertaken by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States in working towards an agreement that aims to bring an end to the ongoing crisis in Gaza.

The UAE’s statement underscores its commitment to supporting regional stability and humanitarian efforts aimed at ending the suffering of innocent civilians.
