UAE Condemns Israeli Attacks on Humanitarian Convoys and UNRWA Headquarters
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has vehemently denounced the recent assault perpetrated by Israeli settlers on a Jordanian aid convoy en route to the Gaza Strip via Beit Hanoun, as well as the attack on the headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) situated in occupied Jerusalem.
In an official statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the UAE unequivocally condemned these egregious acts and held Israel entirely accountable for their reprehensible actions. The Ministry called for an immediate, impartial, and transparent investigation into the incidents, demanding justice for the perpetrators in accordance with international humanitarian law.
Moreover, the Ministry underscored the imperative for robust support from the international community to bolster UNRWA’s endeavors in delivering sustainable services and aid to Palestinian refugees amidst the dire circumstances exacerbated by continual Israeli transgressions.
Expressing appreciation for the steadfast support provided by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Palestinian brethren and the populace of the Gaza Strip in confronting humanitarian challenges, the Ministry lauded Jordan’s commendable efforts.
Emphasizing the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire and the avoidance of targeting civilians, organizations, civilian infrastructure, and relief agencies, the Ministry urged all parties involved to facilitate the prompt, secure, sustainable, and unimpeded distribution of humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza.
The UAE’s resolute condemnation of these attacks underscores its commitment to upholding international principles of justice, peace, and humanitarianism in the face of adversity, while advocating for the rights and welfare of the Palestinian people.
