UAE Delegation Participates in Fourth G20 Sherpa Meeting
Rio De Janeiro, The Gulf Observer: A UAE delegation led by Saleh Al Suwaidi, UAE Ambassador to Brazil and Sous Sherpa to the G20, actively participated in the Fourth G20 Sherpa Meeting held in Rio de Janeiro from 12th to 17th November.
The discussions focused on negotiating and finalizing the G20 Rio de Janeiro Leaders’ Summit Declaration, which addresses a wide array of global priorities. These include international economic and political developments, strategies for social inclusion, combating hunger and poverty, advancing energy transition and sustainable development, and reforming global governance institutions.
The G20 Leaders’ Summit, hosted by Brazil, is scheduled to take place on 18th and 19th November 2024.
This year marks the UAE’s fifth participation as a guest country at the G20. The nation has previously been invited to summits in France (2011), Saudi Arabia (2020), Indonesia (2022), and India (2023), underscoring its growing role in addressing global challenges.
