UAE Foreign Minister Holds Calls with Global Counterparts on Escalating Regional Tensions

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, held telephone discussions on Monday with several foreign ministers to address the rapidly evolving regional situation following recent Israeli military strikes targeting the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Sheikh Abdullah spoke separately with Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan; Antonio Tajani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy; Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye; Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary; and Asaad Al-Shibani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria.

The discussions focused on the implications of the current escalation for regional security and stability. All parties expressed deep concern over the potential for further deterioration and emphasized the need to prevent a broader conflict.

The foreign ministers also reiterated the importance of supporting diplomatic dialogue and peaceful solutions to regional crises, in a manner that preserves international peace and stability. They underlined the critical role of collective efforts and international cooperation in managing tensions and safeguarding regional interests.

The UAE continues to advocate for de-escalation and responsible engagement to avoid further unrest in the Middle East.
