UAE Foreign Minister Meets U.S. Secretary of State in Washington

Washington, D.C., The Gulf Observer: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Tuesday during a working visit to Washington D.C.
The meeting, held at the U.S. Department of State headquarters, underscored the depth of the strategic partnership between the UAE and the United States and explored avenues to further enhance bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors. Secretary Rubio welcomed Sheikh Abdullah and his accompanying delegation, highlighting the importance of the visit in advancing mutual interests.
Discussions focused on expanding collaboration in key developmental areas, including the economy, commerce, scientific research, advanced technologies, and artificial intelligence. Both parties reviewed the outcomes of the recent state visit of U.S. President Donald Trump to the UAE in May, affirming that the visit reflected the strength of bilateral ties and the shared determination to deepen cooperation across all domains.
Sheikh Abdullah praised the enduring and robust strategic alliance between the UAE and the United States, reaffirming the UAE’s commitment to reinforcing this exceptional relationship to achieve mutual prosperity and sustainable development for both nations and their peoples.
The ministers also exchanged views on key regional developments. Sheikh Abdullah reiterated the UAE’s dedication to working with the United States and international partners to promote peace, stability, and the values of coexistence and human fraternity.
The meeting was attended by senior Emirati officials, including Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States; Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs; Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs; and Dr. Maha Taysir Barakat, Assistant Minister for Medical Affairs and Life Sciences at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
