UAE President and Kuwaiti Emir Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

Kuwait, The Gulf Observer: During a state visit to Kuwait, UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, to discuss the deep-rooted historical and fraternal ties between the UAE and Kuwait, exploring avenues to enhance cooperation across various sectors to benefit both nations.

The meeting took place at Bayan Palace, where Sheikh Mishal warmly welcomed President Sheikh Mohamed and his delegation, expressing Kuwait’s pride in the strong partnership with the UAE. The Emir extended his best wishes for the UAE’s continued progress and prosperity under President Sheikh Mohamed’s leadership.

The leaders reviewed progress in key areas of collaboration, including the economy, trade, and investment, reinforcing the commitment of both nations to their shared developmental priorities. The discussions also focused on the importance of Gulf cooperation and the need to address regional challenges through coordinated efforts within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

They underscored their support for stability in the Middle East, particularly regarding the ongoing situations in Gaza and Lebanon. Both leaders called for international efforts to halt hostilities in these regions, emphasizing the importance of protecting civilians and ensuring humanitarian relief. They also reiterated their commitment to Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

President Sheikh Mohamed and Emir Sheikh Mishal expressed their mutual dedication to preventing the expansion of conflicts in the region and stressed the necessity of working toward a just and lasting peace, including support for the two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Sheikh Mohamed highlighted the strong economic ties between the UAE and Kuwait, recognizing Kuwait as one of the UAE’s key partners in regional development. He praised the historical bonds between the two nations, which have been further strengthened by the visionary leadership of both countries.

In his remarks, Sheikh Mishal emphasized the importance of continuing the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Kuwait’s former rulers in fostering bilateral relations. He reiterated the commitment to advancing cooperation through the Kuwait-UAE Joint Committee and the GCC framework.

To honor the visit, Sheikh Mishal hosted a luncheon attended by senior officials, including Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and several other dignitaries from both countries.

The meeting and discussions highlighted the enduring partnership between the UAE and Kuwait, built on mutual respect, shared interests, and a joint vision for a prosperous future.
