UAE President and Sultan of Oman Enhance Bilateral Relations
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman engaged in discussions aimed at bolstering fraternal relations and cooperation between the two nations. The talks focused on advancing mutual interests and fulfilling the aspirations of their peoples for development and prosperity, in alignment with the longstanding and deep-rooted ties that bind the UAE and Oman.
The meeting, held at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, commenced with His Highness the President extending a warm welcome to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq and the accompanying delegation. His Highness emphasized the significance of these deliberations in fostering prosperity within both the UAE and Oman, expressing confidence that the visit of His Majesty would fortify bilateral relations, ultimately fostering growth and development for the two nations.
During the discussions, His Highness the President and His Majesty Sultan Haitham reviewed the robust economic, investment, and trade relations between their countries, which have witnessed remarkable advancement in recent years. They underscored the importance of these ties in serving developmental priorities and bolstering the prosperity of both nations.
The leaders also deliberated on joint Gulf action in light of regional challenges, emphasizing its crucial role in advancing the mutual interests of Gulf Cooperation Council countries and fortifying regional security and stability.
Furthermore, the discussions encompassed various regional and international issues of common interest, with a focus on developments in the Middle East and efforts to de-escalate tensions to safeguard security and stability in the region.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan highlighted the historical and unique social and cultural fabric that characterizes relations between the UAE and Oman, underpinned by close family ties, good neighborliness, and effective cooperation. He paid tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sultan Qaboos for establishing a strong foundation of fraternal relations between the two countries.
In his remarks, His Highness reiterated the UAE’s commitment to collective action and solidarity among Gulf Cooperation Council countries, emphasizing the importance of preserving regional and international peace and stability.
Expressing his pleasure at visiting the UAE, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq conveyed his appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the government and people of the UAE for their warm reception and generous hospitality. His Majesty commended the constructive strategic partnership between Oman and the UAE, which has led to the launch of strategic investment projects and close cooperation across various sectors.
The meeting concluded with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq expressing his gratitude to His Highness the President for the warm reception and hospitality extended to him and the accompanying delegation.
