UAE President Meets South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol
Seoul, The Gulf Observer: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with His Excellency President Yoon Suk Yeol of the Republic of Korea and First Lady Kim Keon-hee today. The Korean leaders welcomed Sheikh Mohamed and expressed their pleasure at meeting him and H.H. Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairperson of the Presidential Court for National Projects, during His Highness’ state visit to the Republic of Korea.
The meeting took place at Changdeokgung Palace, where the leaders engaged in cordial conversations, emphasizing the robust ties and mutual commitment to enhancing relations between their nations. They also discussed their shared aim to preserve culture and national heritage.
As part of the visit, Sheikh Mohamed and H.H. Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan participated in a traditional Korean tea ceremony, accompanied by a flute performance by a Korean musician. Following this, President Sheikh Mohamed and President Yoon toured the palace’s Secret Garden, a significant historical tourist site.
A special banquet in Sheikh Mohamed’s honor was hosted by President Yoon and the First Lady at the Blue House, featuring musical and traditional performances. Sheikh Mohamed expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and generous hospitality extended to him and the UAE delegation since their arrival.
President Sheikh Mohamed praised the Korean people’s dedication to preserving their rich heritage and culture. He emphasized the importance of culture and the arts in building bridges of communication and understanding among peoples, noting that these elements are valuable parts of heritage passed down through generations.
The banquet was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs at the Presidential Court; as well as other members of the delegation accompanying President Sheikh Mohamed.
This visit underscores the strong diplomatic and cultural ties between the UAE and South Korea, highlighting a mutual commitment to furthering their partnership across various sectors.
