UAE President Receives Burundi’s President, Discusses Expanding Bilateral Cooperation

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today received Évariste Ndayishimiye, President of the Republic of Burundi, who is on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates.

The meeting, held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, saw His Highness welcome the Burundian President and extend congratulations on the occasion of Burundi’s Unity Day, observed on February 5. Sheikh Mohamed conveyed his best wishes for continued progress and prosperity for Burundi and its people.

Discussions focused on opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic, investment, and renewable energy sectors, alongside other priority areas of mutual interest. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing cooperation in ways that serve shared interests and deliver tangible benefits to their peoples.

The two leaders also exchanged views on a range of regional and international issues, stressing the importance of supporting regional and global peace and stability as a foundation for sustainable development and prosperity.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region; Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; along with a number of sheikhs, ministers, and senior officials.
