UAE President Receives South Korean Special Envoy, Discusses Regional Developments and Strategic Cooperation

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Kang Hoon-sik, Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Korea, during a meeting held in Abu Dhabi.

During the meeting, Kang Hoon-sik conveyed the greetings of Lee Jae-myung and his wishes for the UAE’s continued security, progress and prosperity. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed asked the envoy to extend his greetings to President Lee, along with his wishes for further development and prosperity for the Republic of Korea and its people, as well as continued growth in relations between the two countries.

The discussions also addressed regional developments and their serious implications, including threats to regional and international peace and security. Kang Hoon-sik reaffirmed South Korea’s solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and its support for measures taken by the UAE to safeguard its security, territorial integrity and the safety of its people.

Both sides emphasised the importance of prioritising dialogue and diplomacy in addressing regional challenges in order to prevent further tensions and preserve regional stability.

The South Korean envoy also expressed appreciation for the UAE leadership’s attention to the welfare and safety of Korean nationals and residents living in the country, noting the UAE’s efforts to facilitate procedures and ensure their security.

The meeting further explored ways to deepen cooperation under the UAE–Republic of Korea Special Strategic Partnership, particularly in priority sectors.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; along with several senior officials.
