UAE President Welcomes Global Partners to ADNOC’s Lower-Carbon LNG Project
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed several global partners and investors who signed an agreement today to join ADNOC’s lower-carbon intensity liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Ruwais.
The meeting, held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, was attended by H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
His Highness warmly greeted the officials from the participating companies, who were accompanied by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO.
Endorsing the agreement, His Highness underscored its significance within the UAE’s ongoing efforts to invest in clean energy projects. He emphasized the importance of identifying solutions to the common challenges faced by the energy sector and enhancing cooperation with global partners to promote sustainable development.
During discussions with company officials, His Highness explored the potential for collaboration, particularly in employing innovative solutions to drive sustainable economic development. They also examined practical approaches to facilitate the energy sector’s transition.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber; Murray Auchincloss, CEO of bp; Kenichi Hori, President and CEO of Mitsui & Co.; Wael Sawan, CEO of Shell; and Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies.
