UAE Reaffirms Commitment to Two-State Solution at High-Level UN Conference on Palestine

New York, The Gulf Observer: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, led the United Arab Emirates (UAE) delegation at the High-level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, held on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The conference underscored the international community’s commitment to establishing an independent, sovereign Palestinian state with internationally recognized borders, coexisting peacefully with Israel in stability and security.

In his remarks, Sheikh Abdullah stressed that peace in the region remains unattainable without the realization of a Palestinian state, living alongside Israel in dignity, security, and peace. He emphasized that the two-State solution represents the foundation for Israel’s regional integration and the only viable pathway to achieving lasting peace and stability for Palestinians, Israelis, and the wider region.

The UAE welcomed the growing number of states recognizing Palestine, noting that such developments bolster international efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace and reaffirm the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.

“The only way to move beyond decades of conflict and destruction is to advance toward the vision of two independent states, living side by side in peace,” Sheikh Abdullah affirmed.

The UAE also commended the leadership of His Highness Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, and Emmanuel Macron, President of France, for their efforts in steering the success of the conference.

Ahead of the event, the UAE co-sponsored and voted in favor of the UN General Assembly resolution endorsing the New York Declaration on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, supported by 142 member states.

Reiterating its longstanding position, the UAE pledged to remain a committed partner in realizing the aspirations of the Palestinian people, while working with regional and international stakeholders to secure a sustainable and just resolution that ends the cycle of conflict and lays the groundwork for a more stable and prosperous future for all peoples of the region.
