Summer Tourism

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: The United Arab Emirates is experiencing a distinguished summer tourism season, attracting residents and visitors from around the world to a diverse array of cultural, heritage, shopping, and entertainment events.

The vibrant season is supported by the UAE’s unique climate of safety, stability, tolerance, and openness to different cultures. Despite traditionally hot weather, the nation has transformed summer into a thriving tourism period, bolstered by major promotional campaigns, attractive hotel offers, seasonal discounts, and large-scale indoor entertainment initiatives underpinned by world-class infrastructure.

Preliminary data shows hotel occupancy across the country has risen to between 60 and 70 percent during July and the first half of August, reflecting robust demand.

Visionary Leadership Driving Tourism Growth

Sheikh Dr. Saeed bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan affirmed that the UAE is witnessing an exceptional summer tourism season, cementing its status as a global destination that blends modernity, comfort, and security. He credited these achievements to the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, whose vision places quality of life, innovation, and stability at the heart of the nation’s development.

He emphasized that the UAE’s integrated tourism environment — supported by smart infrastructure, meticulous organization, and an unwavering commitment to safety — has made the country a premier family destination where residents and visitors enjoy peace of mind around the clock.

A Season of Festivals, Shopping, and Cultural Events

Across its emirates, the UAE is hosting a wide variety of summer events. Abu Dhabi welcomed visitors to the 21st Liwa Dates Festival, which drew more than 144,000 participants, and the Historic Dalma Race Festival, alongside international sporting events such as the 6th IMMAF Youth World Championships featuring over 1,000 athletes from 60 countries.

Dubai’s Dubai Summer Surprises, running until August 31, is offering residents and tourists an engaging mix of shopping promotions, raffles, prizes, entertainment, and cultural activities. Similarly, Sharjah’s Summer Promotions campaign is boosting tourism and commercial activity while enhancing the emirate’s reputation as a vibrant family destination.

A Global Model of Safe and Sustainable Tourism

What sets the UAE apart, Sheikh Dr. Saeed noted, is not only the diversity of tourism choices but also the sense of security and stability the nation guarantees. The UAE consistently ranks among the top globally in personal security, community safety, and quality of services, ensuring a welcoming environment for families, tourists, and business travelers alike.

He further highlighted that the country’s summer tourism strategy is aligned with its sustainable development goals, leveraging smart infrastructure and innovative initiatives to enhance the visitor experience from arrival to departure.

With its blend of cultural richness, modern attractions, and unwavering safety, the UAE’s summer of 2025 stands as a testament to its status as a premier global tourism destination.
