Moscow, The Gulf Observer: Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Emirates Tourism Council, spearheaded the UAE delegation at the BRICS Tourism Ministers’ Meeting, held in Moscow under the Russian Federation’s 2024 BRICS Chairmanship. The meeting was conducted under the theme “Strengthening Multilateralism for Just Global Development and Security.”

The gathering aimed to enhance joint cooperation among BRICS member states, focusing on sustainable tourism development and exploring various tourism opportunities. Minister Al Marri underscored the UAE’s dedication, guided by its wise leadership, to bolstering tourism partnerships with BRICS nations.

During his address, Al Marri emphasized the UAE’s commitment to forging new pathways for sustainable tourism collaborations that foster economic growth, promote cultural exchange, and elevate the UAE’s standing as a premier global tourist destination. “We are dedicated to working with our BRICS partners to develop a resilient and sustainable tourism sector,” stated Al Marri. “This includes improving air connectivity and infrastructure, leveraging the strategic locations of the UAE and BRICS nations, embracing digital transformation and technology across various tourism sectors, and sharing best practices to facilitate travel and increase tourism flows among member states.”
