UN Chief Thanks President Berdimuhamedov for Successful LLDC3 Forum in Avaza

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has extended his gratitude to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for his effective leadership in organizing the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), which took place in Avaza from August 5 to 8, 2025. The message was reported by Turkmenistan’s official media on Wednesday.
Guterres underlined that Turkmenistan’s consistent foreign policy, grounded in principles of peace and multilateral dialogue, created favorable conditions for the successful conduct of the high-level gathering. He stressed that the conference brought together heads of state and government, representatives of international organizations, civil society, and media around a unified agenda to support sustainable development and strengthen the resilience of landlocked developing nations in the face of global challenges.
The UN chief also expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation during their stay in Turkmenistan. He reaffirmed the United Nations’ readiness to continue working closely with Ashgabat on implementing the outcomes of the Avaza conference.
The LLDC3 Forum was attended by leaders and high-level representatives from more than 100 countries, nearly 50 international organizations, and over 20 major companies. The event also attracted wide international media attention, with more than 160 journalists from around 40 countries covering the proceedings.
