UN Secretary-General to Visit Uzbekistan for High-Level Talks

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres is set to visit Uzbekistan from June 30 to July 1, as announced by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.

The visit comes at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. During his stay, high-level negotiations are planned in Tashkent, where the parties will discuss expanding and strengthening Uzbekistan’s cooperation with the UN and its various institutions. Discussions will also cover current global political issues and regional interaction.

A key focus of the talks will be on supporting measures aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Uzbekistan. This highlights the country’s commitment to the global agenda of sustainable development and the importance of international cooperation in this endeavor.

In addition to formal meetings, Guterres will visit several industrial and social facilities, underscoring the practical aspects of the UN’s support in Uzbekistan.
