US Consulate in Casablanca to Relocate to Casa Finance City, Marking New Chapter in Morocco-US Ties
Rabat, The Gulf Observer: The United States mission in Casablanca has announced the relocation of its Consulate General to Casa Finance City, in a major development aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic engagement with Morocco.
According to an official statement from the US Embassy, the project represents an investment exceeding $300 million and is expected to generate hundreds of jobs while contributing up to $100 million to Morocco’s economy during the construction phase.
The relocation from Boulevard Moulay Youssef signals what officials described as a “new chapter in the enduring partnership” between the United States and Morocco. The consulate will cease visa and American Citizen Services at its current premises on April 21, with operations set to resume at the new headquarters on April 28.
The transition includes all consulate facilities, including the cultural center Dar America, currently located in Gauthier. Dar America will close on April 10 and reopen at Casa Finance City on May 5.
During the relocation period, the US mission affirmed that emergency assistance services for American citizens in Morocco will remain fully operational. Applicants seeking visa-related information have been advised to consult the official US travel documentation portal and embassy resources.
Officials highlighted that the new consulate complex has been designed to reflect the deep historical and cultural ties between Morocco and the United States, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of bilateral relations. The facility blends contemporary American architectural elements with Moroccan design influences.
Commenting on the move, Duke Buchan stated that the new consulate symbolizes both modern American diplomacy and the enduring friendship between the two nations. He noted that the investment honors the longstanding partnership while laying the foundation for deeper future cooperation.
Meanwhile, Marissa Scott expressed enthusiasm about welcoming visitors to the new location, emphasizing that the upgraded facility will enhance services and further strengthen bilateral ties.
The US mission underscored that the relocation reflects a shared commitment to innovation, partnership, and continued collaboration between the United States and Morocco.
