US President Invites Azerbaijan to Join Founding Membership of International Board of Peace

Board of Peace

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of the United States of America Donald Trump has formally invited the Republic of Azerbaijan to join a new international initiative aimed at promoting peace in the Middle East and addressing global conflicts, according to a letter addressed to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

In the letter, President Trump described the initiative as a “critically historic and magnificent effort” to solidify peace in the Middle East while introducing a bold new approach to resolving global conflicts. He recalled that on September 29, 2025, he announced the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, a 20-point roadmap which, he noted, was swiftly embraced by world leaders, including heads of state from the Arab world, Israel, and Europe.

President Trump further stated that, in support of the plan, the United Nations Security Council overwhelmingly adopted Resolution 2803 on November 17, welcoming and endorsing the vision outlined in the comprehensive plan.

Emphasizing the need to translate commitments into action, the US President said the plan’s central element is the establishment of The Board of Peace, a new international organization and transitional governing administration. He described the proposed body as an unprecedented initiative that would bring together a distinguished group of nations committed to building lasting peace and investing in a secure and prosperous future for coming generations.

“As Chairman of the Board, I formally invite the Republic of Azerbaijan to join as a Founding Member State and become a party to the Charter of The Board of Peace,” President Trump said, noting that each member state would be entitled to designate an authorized representative to participate in the Board’s meetings.

The letter stated that the Comprehensive Plan and the Charter of The Board of Peace have been enclosed for Azerbaijan’s consideration, signature, and ratification. President Trump also expressed his expectation of close cooperation with Azerbaijan in pursuing the shared objective of lasting global peace, prosperity, and stability.
