Uzbek and Kazakh Presidents Tour “Khiva Carpets”
Khiva, The Gulf Observer: Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and President Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan embarked on a significant visit to the “Khiva Carpets” as reported by Uzbek media sources.
According to the press service of President Mirziyoyev, the “Khiva Carpets” combine, established in 2020 with an estimated value of $24 million, boasts an impressive production capacity of 4.2 million square meters of carpets and carpet products annually. The combine’s products find their way to markets across the globe, including the United States, China, Russia, Kazakhstan, and other CIS countries.
Equipped with state-of-the-art machinery imported from leading manufacturers in Germany, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, and Turkey, the combine operates with a workforce of 750 skilled workers.
During the visit, Presidents Mirziyoyev and Tokayev had the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the intricacies of the production process and explore the showroom showcasing the combine’s extensive range of products. Of particular note was the exhibition featuring products proudly bearing the “Made in Uzbekistan” brand, underscoring the country’s commitment to promoting domestic manufacturing excellence.
Following the tour, responsible ministries and agencies were tasked with fostering knowledge exchange, enhancing cooperation, and facilitating trade relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The visit underscored the commitment of both nations to strengthen bilateral ties and explore avenues for mutual growth and prosperity.
As Presidents Mirziyoyev and Tokayev concluded their visit to the “Khiva Carpets” combine, expectations are high for the continued advancement of economic cooperation and collaboration between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, paving the way for a brighter and more prosperous future for both nations.
