Uzbek President Holds High-Level Meeting with Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Upon arrival in Islamabad, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the headquarters of Global Industrial & Defence Solutions, where he held a meeting with the Chief of Defence Forces of the Pakistan Armed Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir.
During the talks, the two sides reviewed key aspects of the further development of multifaceted Uzbek–Pakistani cooperation and their strategic partnership. Particular emphasis was placed on expanding collaboration in the military and military-technical spheres, as well as on coordinating efforts to counter contemporary challenges and security threats.
The meeting underscored the importance of strengthening cooperative ties between leading enterprises of the defence-industrial complexes of both countries. Discussions focused on expanding training programs for military specialists, promoting the exchange of experience, and conducting joint training exercises.
Special attention was also given to issues related to accelerating the implementation of promising infrastructure projects in the transport and logistics sector.
As an outcome of the discussions, the sides agreed to prepare a separate roadmap aimed at advancing military and military-technical cooperation.
Following the meeting, President Mirziyoyev familiarised himself with the developments of Global Industrial & Defence Solutions, including samples of modern Pakistani military equipment and armaments.
