Uzbek Senate Chairperson meets with President of Belarus
Minsk, The Gulf Observer: The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva pays an official visit to the Republic of Belarus.
As part of the visit, Chairperson of the Senate Tanzila Narbayeva met with the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
Belarus is one of Uzbekistan’s partners within the CIS, and relations between the countries are developing in the spirit of friendship and partnership.
The issues of bilateral cooperation, particularly the strengthening of political, trade, economic, scientific, technical, cultural, and humanitarian ties, were discussed at the meeting.
During the conversation, the effectiveness of developing the inter-parliamentary dialogue, the regularity of partner meetings and events, and active interaction within the framework of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and the Inter-Parliamentary Union were noted.
Uzbekistan and Belarus carry out constructive cooperation within the framework of international and regional organizations – UN, CIS, SCO.
The primary attention during the dialogue was paid to the first business forum of business circles and women entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and Belarus. It was noted that this event will significantly contribute to the development of women’s entrepreneurship and will become an effective platform for discussing and developing new proposals and initiatives to strengthen trade and economic ties.
The establishment of effective parliamentary control over the implementation of the agreements reached, the need to achieve gender equality through joint activities, and strengthening cooperation with the Belarusian Women’s Union were noted.
Views were exchanged on other essential issues.
