Uzbekistan and Belarus Achieve Mutual Trade Turnover Exceeding $600 Million

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Alexander Ogorodnikov, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Uzbekistan, visited the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, where he met with O. Mamatkarimov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Ties, Foreign Investments, and Tourism. The discussion focused on enhancing cooperation between the two nations in the areas of trade-economic relations, cultural-humanitarian exchanges, and tourism.
During the meeting, it was noted that the annual trade turnover between Belarus and Uzbekistan has surpassed $600 million, underscoring the growing economic ties between the two countries.
The Ambassador also highlighted the successful First Belarus–Uzbekistan Tourism Forum, held in Minsk, and shared plans for the upcoming second forum, which is scheduled to take place in Tashkent later this year. Additionally, Ogorodnikov informed the committee about the Third Belarus–Uzbekistan Women’s Forum, which will be hosted in Vitebsk on August 20-21.
Another significant topic discussed was the upcoming 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, set to be held in Tashkent from April 5-9. The event is expected to draw around 2,000 members of parliaments from 185 countries, marking a major international gathering in Uzbekistan.
The meeting reflected the strong partnership and ongoing collaboration between Belarus and Uzbekistan across multiple sectors.
