Uzbekistan and EU Strengthen Strategic Cooperation in High-Level Talks

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbayeva, held a meeting with the European Union Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Toivo Klaar, to discuss the advancement of strategic relations between Uzbekistan and EU member states.
During the meeting, both parties acknowledged the significant progress in bilateral relations, emphasizing the expansion of joint projects in trade, economy, education, healthcare, and innovation under the framework of the EU’s Generalised Scheme of Preferences Plus (GSP+). Special attention was given to Uzbekistan’s ongoing efforts in human rights protection, gender equality, and the broader engagement of civil institutions in governance.
Discussions also included an exchange of views on leveraging the experiences of developed nations to enhance Uzbekistan’s institutional frameworks in these areas. Additionally, both sides agreed to deepen cooperation with EU member states to strengthen interparliamentary ties, improve legislative processes, and enhance parliamentary oversight.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of Uzbekistan and the European Union to furthering collaboration in various sectors, reinforcing their shared vision of sustainable development and governance reforms.
