Uzbekistan and Iran Presidents Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a phone conversation with the newly elected President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian. President Mirziyoyev began the conversation by warmly congratulating President Pezeshkian on his recent electoral victory and wishing him success in his new role.
The leaders discussed the enhancement of Uzbek-Iranian relations and the expansion of practical cooperation in trade, investment, and transportation. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the recent growth in trade turnover and cargo transportation, the increase in joint projects and enterprises, and the higher frequency of air flights between the two countries.
Emphasis was placed on the importance of implementing previously agreed-upon initiatives at the highest level. The discussion highlighted the necessity of advancing cooperation projects in energy, the chemical industry, agriculture, the food industry, and other sectors.
Additionally, the conversation covered current regional agenda issues, underscoring the commitment of both nations to continue fostering strong bilateral ties and mutual cooperation.
