Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Uzbekistan and Pakistan marked a significant milestone in bilateral economic cooperation with the successful operation of the first charter cargo flight between the two countries, aimed at strengthening food supply and trade connectivity.

The Boeing 737 aircraft arrived at Tashkent International Airport from Lahore at 21:10 local time, carrying the first shipment of food products, including 17 tons of meat.

The inaugural cargo flight represents an important practical step toward enhancing logistics links and expanding trade between Uzbekistan and Pakistan. Authorities from both sides view the initiative as part of broader efforts to improve transport connectivity and facilitate the movement of goods between Central Asia and South Asia.

The flight was operated by the Pakistani airline Air Eagle at the initiative of the charter aviation company Air Speed Charter. The company plans to continue operating similar flights in the future with increased cargo capacity.

Officials indicated that cargo transportation volumes are expected to gradually expand, with a target of reaching up to 100 tons of cargo per flight as cooperation develops.

The launch of the charter cargo route underscores the growing potential of economic collaboration between Uzbekistan and Pakistan and is expected to create new opportunities in trade, food security, and regional transport connectivity, further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two nations.
