Uzbekistan and United States Health Week begins in Tashkent

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Uzbekistan and the United States Health Week has started in Tashkent today which will run until September 9.
During the week, it is planned to consider the application of advanced approaches and experience in medicine in Uzbekistan and the attraction of investments in the sphere based on U.S. standards.
It should be noted that in recent years, cooperation between the two countries in healthcare has been strengthened. Collaboration is enhancing in several areas, such as preventing tuberculosis and lung diseases, equipping medical institutions with special equipment, combating hepatitis B and C and other infectious diseases, sanitation, and epidemiology. In addition, the development of medicine in Uzbekistan is facilitated by the allocation of grants by the Ministry of Health and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to develop pharmacopeia and create reference laboratories.
However, there are still many tasks waiting to be solved. Among them, the use of advanced approaches and experience in domestic medicine based on U.S. standards in dozens of areas (medical education, personnel exchange, scientific research, high-tech operations, innovative methods of diagnosis and treatment, disease prevention, health insurance, sanitation and epidemiology, pharmaceuticals, investment attraction). The First Uzbekistan and the United States Health Week was organized for this purpose.
During the week, many qualified specialists from the United States are expected to visit several medical institutions and organizations in Uzbekistan. They will get acquainted, in particular, with the activities of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Surgery, the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care, the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Oncology and Medical Radiology, the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Hematology, and exchange ideas and experience.
Foreign experts are also planning to visit medical universities and conduct a dialogue with students.
