Uzbekistan’s Afruza Khamdamova becomes world chess champion
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Afruza Khamdamova became the world chess champion in the age category up to 14 years.
The Italian city of Montesilvano is hosting the World Chess Championship U14, 16 and 18, in which chess players from 92 countries participate.
In the match of the 10th round, Afruza Khamdamova (2199) defeated Anna Shukhman (2263) and became the world chess champion in the age category up to 14 years ahead of schedule. She has 9 points in 10 rounds
Thus, she became the first chess champion among girls in the history of Uzbekistan.
