Uzbekistan’s Chairperson of Senate meets with Ambassador of Qatar

Doha, The Gulf Observer: The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar Hassan bin Hamza Hashim.
The parties discussed the current state of relations between Uzbekistan and Qatar and the prospects for their development. In particular, the parties focused on political, trade, economic, and investment issues, further strengthening inter-parliamentary ties.
“The development of cooperation with the Parliament of Qatar is one of our priority areas”, Mrs. Narbayeva said. – Friendship groups and cooperation between the relevant committees of parliaments will be an important impetus for enriching relations between the two countries with new content and fully realizing the potential of collaboration.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Ambassador noted that the state visit of the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to Uzbekistan in June gave a completely new spirit to bilateral relations. The diplomat acknowledged that Uzbekistan is the main regional partner of Qatar, emphasized the importance of developing inter-parliamentary relations, and noted the importance of the efforts of the two countries’ parliaments in ensuring the implementation of agreements reached at a high level.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue cooperation and joint initiatives within the framework of international organizations.
