Việt Nam’s National Assembly Chairman Affirms Strong Ties with Morocco
Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: National Assembly (NA) Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn affirmed on Friday that Việt Nam consistently values and seeks to enhance its friendly and multifaceted cooperation with Morocco. This statement was made during his meeting with Najib El-Khadi, Secretary-General of Morocco’s House of Representatives and President of the Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments (ASGP).
Chairman Mẫn highlighted that parliamentary cooperation is a key channel for effective collaboration between the two countries. The parliaments of Việt Nam and Morocco have maintained regular delegation exchanges, high-level meetings, and close cooperation, supporting each other at global and regional multilateral inter-parliamentary forums.
The Vietnamese top legislator proposed that both sides review and continue to effectively implement the cooperation agreement signed in 2017. He emphasized the need to deepen parliamentary relations and increase delegation exchanges at all levels and through parliamentary friendship groups.
Mẫn also called for enhanced sharing of parliamentary experiences between the two nations and mutual support at multilateral forums.
In response, Najib El-Khadi congratulated Mẫn on his election as Việt Nam’s NA Chairman and commended the Vietnamese NA on its significant achievements, particularly its innovations in operations and the application of modern information technology in data storage.
El-Khadi noted that Việt Nam and Morocco share similarities in national construction and development, with both countries prioritizing South-South cooperation. He provided updates on Morocco’s recent socio-economic developments and stressed that both nations are progressing on parallel development paths, with strong potential to strengthen their bilateral relationship.
On this occasion, Chairman Mẫn expressed his gratitude to the President of the House of Councillors and the President of the House of Representatives of Morocco for their congratulations on his election. He extended an invitation for them to visit Việt Nam soon.
El-Khadi conveyed invitations from the Moroccan top legislators for the Vietnamese NA Chairman to visit Morocco.
