Vietnam and Cambodia Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthening Bilateral Ties

HCM City, The Gulf Observer: General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, Tô Lâm, emphasized that the Vietnamese Party, State, and people highly value and prioritize strengthening their good neighborliness, traditional friendship, and comprehensive cooperation with Cambodia.
At a high-level meeting between the Political Bureau of the CPV and the Standing Committee of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), co-chaired by General Secretary Tô Lâm and CPP President and President of the Cambodian Senate Hun Sen in Ho Chi Minh City on February 21, both sides exchanged updates on their respective Parties and national developments. They also discussed regional and global issues of mutual interest.
The leaders reviewed recent cooperation achievements and outlined key directions to further enhance bilateral ties. They praised the deepening all-around cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia, which has significantly contributed to socio-economic development and strengthened each country’s regional and international standing.
Hun Sen commended the CPV, under the leadership of General Secretary Tô Lâm, for its structural reforms, considering them a valuable lesson for Cambodia. He also stressed the importance of educating younger generations about the historical significance of bilateral relations and the enduring solidarity between the two nations.
Both leaders reaffirmed that the solidarity and mutual support between Vietnam and Cambodia are vital for national development and security. They agreed to further strengthen political ties, enhance high-level exchanges, and boost cooperation in defense, security, economy, trade, culture, education, and tourism, in line with each country’s strengths and potential.
