Vietnam and Ukraine Discuss Peaceful Resolution to Russia-Ukraine Conflict in Phone Talks

Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bùi Thanh Sơn held phone talks with Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha on Monday, following a request from Ukraine.

During the conversation, Minister Sơn reaffirmed Vietnam’s balanced and consistent position on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, highlighting the country’s role as a friend to both Russia and Ukraine. He emphasized that all disputes must be resolved through peaceful means, in accordance with international law and the United Nations Charter. Việt Nam expressed its support for and readiness to engage in international mediation efforts aimed at achieving a long-term peaceful solution to the conflict, with the involvement of all relevant parties.

Minister Sybiha expressed Ukraine’s appreciation for its strong relationship with Việt Nam and welcomed the country’s objective stance on the conflict.

Both sides agreed to maintain continued contact and exchanges of delegations at various levels, with plans to hold a political consultation at the deputy foreign ministerial level in the near future.
