Vietnam Strengthens Ties with Canada Through Participation in MIBIExpo 2024
Montreal, The Gulf Observer: The Vietnam Trade Office in Canada has actively participated in the 2024 MIBIExpo, a premier international investment promotion exhibition in Montreal. The event, held to boost global partnerships, provides a platform for Vietnam to enhance cooperation and establish strategic connections with Canadian businesses and investors.
MIBIExpo 2024 focuses on five critical sectors: business investment, real estate, immigration, education, and tourism. By participating, Vietnam aims to strengthen ties under current free trade agreements, including the anticipated ASEAN-Canada Free Trade Agreement, and promote a supportive ecosystem for trade and investment.
Marking its debut in an international industrial and energy investment forum, the Vietnam Trade Office’s presence underscores its commitment to global partnerships. Trần Thu Quỳnh, Vietnam’s trade counsellor in Canada, emphasized the significance of attracting compatible partners who align with Vietnam’s economic goals and free trade advantages. “Vietnam and Canada complement each other well in optimizing production processes and supply chains,” Quỳnh noted, expressing optimism for increased Francophone investment in Vietnam.
Aref Salem, a Montreal City Councilor for Saint Laurent, praised the event’s role in bridging Canadian and Vietnamese business communities. He highlighted Montréal’s role as a gateway to North America and Vietnam’s strategic position in Southeast Asia, envisioning expanding business connections and mutual growth. Salem also emphasized the role of trust in building business relationships, a foundation MIBIExpo seeks to foster.
Enhanced by direct shipping links between Hải Phòng port and Montréal, Vietnam’s engagement in MIBIExpo opens new avenues for trade and cooperation with the Montreal region. Montréal’s cultural diversity and strong business ecosystem make it an ideal partner in promoting trade between Vietnam and Canada, setting the stage for strengthened economic ties and expanded opportunities across North America.
